About Us

The schedule for Clay County Middle School is in two 18-week semesters. At the end of each 9-week period report cards will be given out, therefore, parents and guardians can check on students grades, attendance, and behavior. At the end of the 18-week semester an average of each nine weeks will be taken for a semester grade.

The Clay County Middle School was established in 1991 to meet the educational needs of the student through a cooperative school, home, and community effort. We are here to assure that each student has ample opportunity and time to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be a productive member of a changing, global society. It is our hope that each student will obtain a positive sense of self-worth, will become and effective communicator and problem solver, and will continue as a life-long learner.

Clay County Middle School offers one of the most comprehensive curriculums available in Kentucky. Our many exploratory classes support and enhance the four core subjects - Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science.

Clay County Middle School Students have the opportunity to be involved in many extra-curricular activities such as academics, clubs, and sports. We are proud to say that many of our students often place at or near the top in conference competitions.
